Philly O. denies claim it tried to put Pops out of business

Law360 (December 1, 2025) — The Philadelphia Orchestra and its venue, the Kimmel Center, have denied wrongdoing in response to class claims that they were liable for unpaid ticket refunds for canceled performances of a separate orchestra, the Philly Pops.
In an answer Friday to an amended complaint filed by a putative class of Philly Pops ticket holders, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Kimmel Center and related defendants denied the plaintiffs’ allegations that they tried to profit by forcing the Pops out of business.
“The Kimmel defendants deny each and every one of the allegations, including any factual allegations in the preamble to the amended complaint as well as headings or footnotes in the amended complaint, except to the extent those allegations are specifically admitted below,” the defendants said….

The Philly Pops Is again alive and well and performing in Marian Anderson Hall at the Kimmell center.
But they did it. Tarnopolsky murdered Philly Pops as it was. But he moved on to an orchestra foolish enough to hire him. Maybe New York liked his gangster approach.
The original Philly Pops failed because it’s knew so little about anything management ran it into a deficit. After they would not renew Peter Nero contract. They owed huge amounts of rent to the camel center so they were evicted. They tried to stay alive as the no name pops. They Re-organized and the Peter Nero estate. Let them once more become the Philly Pops. They have a dynamic new conductor A renewed vision and their loyal audience has slowly returned.
